Key Responsibilities

TheLegalResearcherwillplayanimportantroleinthemulti-disciplinaryteamworkingonlegalandpolicyresearchon laws related to children.
1. Contribute towards preparation of tools for research studies.
2. Work on Data collection including conduct of interviews
3. Data analysis including analysis of case files and related documents, analysis of judicial precedents relevant to juvenile justice and sexual offences against children, and issues of child protection
4. Preparation of training modules and knowledge resources
5. Designing and conducting capacity building programmes for stakeholders in the child protection system and criminal justice system.
6. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and track project deliverables.
7. Review work of junior researchers, lead project activities, and plan project time-lines
8. Documentation, writing and reporting
9. Contributing to building a research and knowledge base within Enfold on issues related to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act,2015,thePOCSOAct,2012, and other child protection laws.
10. ContributetotheongoingadvocacyinitiativesofEnfoldunderwayatvarious levels.
11. Researchsupporttowardsmultidisciplinarycaseconferencesconcerningchildrenin the child protection system.
12. AnyotherworkallocatedbytheTeamDirector,throughmutualconsultation based on priorities identified.

Qualification and Experience

EDUCATION:
Essential:B.A.LLB(Hons)
Preferred:MastersinLaw

WORKEXPERIENCE:
Essential:2-4yearsworkexperience.Familiaritywithlawsrelatingtochildren,particularly juvenile justice. Experience of writing and undertaking research in human rights, children’s rights, disability rights, or any gender equality.

Preferable: Experience of having worked in multi-disciplinary teams
Experience of having worked in an organization(not individual practice)Familiarity with legal research

Preferable:
● Proficiency in Kannada or any other Indian language
